CLEAN BERTH PROJECT

CLEAN BERTH - CROSS-BORDER INSTITUTIONAL COOPERATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF PORTS

The Consortium for Economic Development of Friuli is a partner of the CLEAN BERTH project "Cross-border institutional cooperation for environmental sustainability and energy efficiency of ports", co-funded by the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia 2014-2020.

Objective
Port operations and environmental impact. An important issue for the ports of the cross-border area that are currently lacking a common model of environmental planning and energy efficiency, also adopting mitigation measures in an uncoordinated manner, resulting in an uneven result in terms of environmental protection.

CLEAN BERTH aims to:

1. strengthen institutional capacity and cross-border governance on the subject, increasing the competencies of the ports of the Program Area in joint planning of environmental performance through a constant exchange of experiences between partners;

2. harmonize the policies adopted in this area also through the creation of a common cross-border model of environmental sustainability plan and energy efficiency that will be declined and tested by the partners through pilot actions complementary to each other;

3. institutionalize a permanent cross-border cooperation in this field through the signing of a Joint Protocol and the creation of a permanent platform for sharing data and knowledge.

In this context, the Consortium for Economic Development of Friuli will be able to improve its planning of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency for the Porto Nogaro airport. In particular, all the lighting points of the perimeter-central public lighting and the port warehouses will be replaced with LED technology lamps. A joint protocol will also be signed with the ports of Venice and Koper, allowing AdSP MAO to learn from their experiences and develop future actions in this area in a coordinated manner.
